WriteMovies Spring 2026 Screenwriting Contest Quarter Finalists Announced

It’s been a pleasure to read through this season’s submissions, and we want to thank everyone who has entered. Once again, we’ve reviewed a wide variety of stories across many genres and formats, from feature screenplays to television pilots. Each submission represented hard work, creativity and dedication, and we’re grateful to everyone who trusted us with their stories.

The quarter-finals are always one of the most exciting stages of the competition. As the field narrows, we begin to see the projects that resonate most strongly with our readers and judges. It’s an opportunity to celebrate emerging voices, recognise exceptional storytelling, and spotlight the writers who continue their journey towards our finalist stages.

For every entrant, we hope the feedback and experience gained through the contest helps you continue developing your craft. If you haven’t advanced to this stage, don’t be discouraged. Treat it as an opportunity to reflect, keep sharpening your skills, and come back even stronger next time.

If you’re still waiting to receive your feedback, please bear with us. Entries submitted closer to the final contest deadline may take a little longer to receive their notes, but our team is working hard to ensure every eligible feedback package is delivered as soon as possible.

And to those who have secured a place in the quarter-finals, congratulations! This is a fantastic achievement, and we look forward to revealing which projects progress to the semi-finals later this month.
