Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive from writers that enter our competitions and order script consultancies.

  • Are multiple entries allowed? Yes. However, you need to submit a separate application form and fee for each entry.
  • What format do you accept scripts in when submitting electronically? You may submit your script in the following formats: txt, pdf, doc, fdr (final draft), rtf
  • How will I know if the 1,000 entry limit has been reached? We will post a very clear notice on all the relevant pages indicating that the contest limit has been reached. We leave sufficient leeway in order for projects to still be eligible if they arrive after the announced closing date.
  • Why do you need three months to get the winning projects to the studios etc.? That’s how long they can take to read material.
  • Are children’s stories admissible? Absolutely.
  • Can a screenplay for a short film be submitted to the writing contest? Certainly, please just enter it under the screenplay category.
  • How long can a short story be? Short stories must be 10,000 words or less. Anything longer is considered a book.
  • If I’m younger than 18, can I still participate? Yes, of course. However, you must have at least one parent (or legal guardian) sign the application form in addition to your own signature.
  • When I send the money, the script and the application form separately how do I know, that my script will participate in the contest? We will send you a confirmation email as soon as we have received the completed application.
  • How long do I have to wait for my consulting? We try to provide the consulting within 2 weeks, the consulting from our elite consultants even faster. If your script is also participating in the contest and in the judging process it might take longer. If you need your feedback very urgently, let us know.
