Today, we’re excited to announce another major milestone in the competition as we reveal the WriteMovies Spring 2026 Screenwriting Contest Semi-Finalists.
The semi-finals represent the penultimate stage of the contest, bringing us one step closer to crowning this season’s winners. After another round of careful judging, we’re delighted to spotlight the scripts that continue to stand out for their originality, storytelling craft and commercial potential.
Reaching this stage has involved some incredibly difficult decisions, and narrowing the field has only become more challenging as the competition has progressed. Every script remaining has demonstrated qualities that made it worthy of reaching this penultimate stage of the competition.
At WriteMovies, we look for stories that stand out for their unique concepts, strong execution and commercial viability. Each of our semi-finalists has demonstrated qualities that help them stand apart, and we believe they have the potential to resonate with audiences and the wider industry alike.
To everyone who entered this season’s contest, thank you once again for sharing your work with us. Whether you’ve reached this stage or not, we hope the feedback and experience gained through the competition continue to support your development as a writer.
Next week, on July 3rd, we’ll announce our Winners and Honorable Mentions. Our winning writers will receive a year of script development, guaranteed representation from TalentScout International Management, and industry pitching support as we work to help bring their projects to the international entertainment industry.
