Introducing Adeeb Adrian! Meet the 1st Place Winner of our Spring 2026 Screenwriting Contest.

Today, we would like to introduce Adeeb Adrian, first place winner of our Spring 2026 Screenwriting Contest. As his project progresses with continued development from the WriteMovies team, we’re excited to share his biography.
“Adeeb Adrian, born Adeeb Adrian Alhaijali in Rzeszów, Poland, is a Danish-Polish screenwriter, musician, and multimedia storyteller whose artistic journey spans journalism, music production, and filmmaking. Though born in Poland to an Iraqi-Turkish father and a Polish mother, Adeeb moved to Denmark at a young age, where he grew up and spent most of his life. His multicultural background later inspired his professional name, Adeeb Adrian – a synthesis of his diverse heritage and creative identity.
From an early age, Adeeb demonstrated a deep fascination with cinema and storytelling. As a child, he spent countless hours creating short films at home using his toys as actors, carefully staging scenes and imagining entire worlds. During his teenage years, that imagination evolved into writing loglines for original film ideas, laying the foundation for a lifelong passion for screenwriting.
After completing his education, Adeeb moved to Copenhagen, where he began his professional career as a web-TV journalist. Working behind and in front of the camera gave him valuable experience in editing, camera operation, and production, helping shape the visual and narrative style that would later influence his screenwriting.
Alongside his brother, Kamil Alhaijali, Adeeb also established himself in the music industry. The brothers won a U.S. mixing competition hosted by legendary producer Jack Joseph Puig, renowned for his work with Lady Gaga, The Rolling Stones, U2, and many other international artists. They later formed the alternative pop-rock band Mannequin Mars, signed with Sony Music Denmark, and released their debut album in 2020.
In 2024, Adeeb fulfilled his childhood ambition of writing his first feature screenplay, Behind the Mind of a Killer. The psychological thriller won Best Narrative Feature Screenplay at the LA Under the Stars Film Festival, marking his first screenwriting award.
Since then he has won several awards, including earning the Platinum Remy Award at the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival. His latest screenplay, The Listener, won 1st Place in the WriteMovies Spring 2026 Screenwriting Contest.
Today, Adeeb continues to combine his multicultural background, technical filmmaking experience, and musical creativity into emotionally driven, character-focused stories that blend psychological depth with cinematic suspense.”
