WriteMovies has appointed Ian Kennedy as its new Director of World Wide Development. The new role will forge new partnerships between global writers and the international film industry, while helping oversee existing WriteMovies competitions and services based at our office in Los Angeles.

The new role has been created to widen WriteMovies’ reach to global writers and to give new writers a bridge to the heart of the international writing industry. Our new competition will cast our net even wider than before in search of stories with global potential; we are adding a special UK prize to our contest and continue to promise over $5000 of prizes and guaranteed representation to our overall winner.

As well as providing over 100 script reports for WriteMovies since 2013, Ian is Chair of Screenwriters’ Forum, an organisation run by and for professional screenwriters, and has written 135 episodes of BBC drama, provided script reports SCRIPT and independently, and run nearly 125 Creative Writing classes for diverse adults.
