It’s one of the most exciting moments of the year for us here at WriteMovies… Yes, it’s the moment we get to announce the winners of our most recent competition: the Spring 2019 Screenwriting Contest!
It’s always amazing when we get to read so many great scripts – and as we’ve mentioned in both the previous two rounds, the quality has been incredible. We couldn’t be more impressed by the range of concepts, stories, and characters we’ve been introduced to in this competition.
A big thanks to everyone who entered – not just for your support during this contest, but for sharing your stories with us. We’ve had the best time reading and judging for this contest, and that’s all thanks to you guys and the hard work you’ve put in to your scripts!
But it doesn’t end here for us. Next, we get to work with our top three to develop their projects even further, helping them maximize their potential. We’ll be fine-tuning these scripts and making them the best they can possibly be!
And after that, it’ll be time to take those scripts out into the real world and pitch them to industry. This is where all the hard work really starts to pay off, turning a screenplay into the film it was supposed to be.
Congratulations to our top three; we’re thrilled to have to count you among our winners! And well done to everybody else who made quarter-finals, semi-finals, and honorable mentions too.
Don’t forget that if you’d like a chance to place in our next top three, the Fall 2019 Screenwriting Contest is already open for entries – and if you enter our inaugural Horror Award, you’ll get free entry as well! Given what we’ve seen in this contest, we couldn’t be more excited for the next!
