Daniela says:
I graduated from the University of Oxford in June 2015, having studied English Language and Literature. I was looking to get experience as a script reader when I came across the WriteMovies Internship opportunity. I was very keen to get an insight into the role of a script reader and to gain experience by learning how to construct Development Notes and Script Coverage Reports.
During my two month intensive internship with WriteMovies, I learnt how to write detailed Story Department Coverage and Development Notes. I was trained to produce coverage notes to a very tight deadline, and was provided with regular feedback after each set of notes. I became well-practiced at analyzing story structure, character development and dialogue, as well as being able to provide comprehensive summaries of the commercial appeal of projects. I wrote reports for produced scripts, un-produced scripts and fresh submissions. During the two months I gained a good understanding of the different stages of script development, learning to provide writers with comments and suggestions to help them best prepare for the next draft of their script.
