We’re all about industry relationships here at WriteMovies. We structure our services the way we do, and give the advice and results that we do, because we talk to many filmmakers, producers and talent who get things made, and know how to get things made – so by seeing how they respond to projects, we learn from them and put that insight to use, over many years. Some of these interactions are specific to one goal at one moment in time, but some are open ended – conversations that might lead to many things over time. Brendan Kelly used to be Mike Tyson’s sparring partner, and continues to work with the boxing legend. He’s also worked with street cops for years in dangerous neighborhoods – and he’s got the scars to prove it. These credentials made him a natural casting as powerful, deadly, prominent characters in hard-hitting HBO drama OZ and legendary action thriller films CON AIR and THE ROCK.
And then he became a writer. Which led him to submit a script to WriteMovies. Which led to us starting a discussion that has now been ongoing for several years. Which has now led to a management contract to take his latest script to industry. Just another example of how our patient, supportive, open approach pays off for writers, talent and us!
