The last eighteen months have seen people become confined in their homes across the globe. Unable to travel, many of them are looking for new worlds to discover.
That’s why the WriteMovies Sci-Fi and Fantasy Award 2021 is now open! We’re looking for writers to submit scripts that take audiences to strange new locations and introduce them to otherworldly characters.
The Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres have always been popular with audiences, but now more than ever. In recent years we’ve seen immense success for TV shows like GAME OF THRONES and the comeback of franchises like STAR WARS and STAR TREK – not to mention the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The commercial success of these genres has led to the creation of huge franchises and sagas. The potential of Sci-Fi and Fantasy scripts may appeal to studios because the scope of the worlds and characters increases the prospect of spin-offs, sequels and video games all based on the writer’s original IP.
The winner of this award will receive:
