As we approach the end of 2020, it’s also the end of yet another contest – it’s time to announce the winners of our Fall 2020 Screenwriting Contest! Today’s the day we award our top three with script development, pitching to industry, and more, and also give away our Grand Prize of $3500.
This has been one of our most competitive contests ever. We’ve seen a consistently high standard across the board, with scripts of all genres and styles impressing us and showing the best talents of the writers who entered.
We’ve had a lot of tough decisions to make, with a lot of great scripts just missing out – but we’ve also had a blast reading them. Thank-you to everyone who entered for making this contest as good as it was!
And if you didn’t quite make it this time, don’t give up. The competition was tight, so focus on developing your script to make sure it can compete with the best. Sometimes, the smallest thing can make a big difference, and that extra bit of polish can be the dividing line between our winners and the rest of the field.
Above all else, make sure your script is viable in the current market – that it’ll be as successful on the screen with audiences as it is on the pages with readers. To get advice on making sure of that, consider buying one of our script reports for our expert advice. Our Black Friday sale on script reports ends TODAY so click to check them out right away!
2020 has been a difficult and challenging year for everyone, both in our industry and beyond. WriteMovies is dedicated to helping writers, and our contests are a vital part of how we do that – so thank-you also for showing us your support over this last contest cycle.
We intend to keep giving you all the best support we can next year, with our Winter 2021 Screenwriting Contest and Romance and Comedy Award already open for submissions! So if you missed out this time (or if your script just wasn’t quite ready), you’ve got another shot.
