WriteMovies’ Writing Contest 80 – our 80th major international screenwriting contest is now open!
For over 25 years, WriteMovies Contests (WMC) have been promoting great global storytelling to hundreds of senior decision makers in the international entertainment industry – and we’re ready to launch our 80th major international writing contest, WriteMovies’ Writing Contest 80!
The contest runs in our time-honored format, with 1 overall winner, 2 further winners, and up to 7 Honorable Mentions, up to 25+ Semi Finalists and up to 50+ Quarter Finalists. But this time round we definitely won’t have capacity for any extensions periods – these are the definitive submission dates to plan for!
Over the coming months we’ll be celebrating our track record, accolades and success stories. WMC80 can be your ticket to the big time too, like our previous contests have opened doors and secured representation for hundreds of writers.
Each winner will receive:
– A year of script development (worth up to $3200).
– Representation from our industry facing partner TalentScout International Management.
– Pitching of your developed script to the international industry.
Pitch Entry: For an additional opportunity to become a prize winner, submit a one-page pitch document alongside your script!
With each submission, you’ll receive a feedback sheet about your script’s first ten pages – and the chance to submit any redraft before the final deadline, for free. And as ever, the best way to get the most out of your entry is to combine it with a mentoring service:
Studio Coverage – see exactly how an analyst would currently assess your script with a summary and recommendations for studio executives. Discover how the industry would view your script and what key elements you need to focus on in the future.
Development Notes – clear, constructive, studio-quality guidance on the current state of your script and what to do next for it to fulfil its potential, looking at Concept, Structure, Characters, Dialogue and Commercial Viability.
