- 2006 – LETTER FROM IWO JIMA – writer (story and screenplay). Iris was approached by the film’s director, Clint Eastwood, to write the screenplay. Iris had worked as a research assistant on FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS (2006), Also directed by Eastwood. Iris was nominated for “Best Original Screenplay” at the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards, as well as sharing an Academy Award nomination with Paul Haggis for “Best Writing, Original Screenplay.” The film also received a Golden Globe award for “Best Foreign Language Film” and was nominated for a total of 4 Oscars.
