Eirini PapadakiTrainees and interns have been a great support to us at WriteMovies, giving us extra sets of eyes on varied scripts to give entrants the fairest chance possible, and in return getting full training and practice to become approved WriteMovies-trained script analysts. Eirini has completed with us in April 2016 and has received a certificate from us to prove her achievement…

Eirini says:

I am currently completing my Master’s degree at the University of Westminster in Film and Television: Theory, Culture and Industry after graduating with a BA in Communications. I was searching for internships that would help me gain experience as a script analyst in order to develop skills appropriate for future producing-related job positions. When I discovered the script development and packaging internship offered by WriteMovies, I thought that it would make an excellent opportunity for what I was looking for.

During my two month internship with WriteMovies, I was trained to provide script coverage reports with feedback and comments. I learnt how a Story Department Coverage and Development Notes are structured and produced and how scripts should be examined and analysed in order to be able to grade and evaluate them. I gained further insight on how I should analyse the scripts in terms of their premise, story, structure, characters, dialogue and commercial appeal. I was given unproduced scripts, submissions from the company’s monthly and other competitions and books on a daily basis and I also produced reports on produced scripts as well. My supervisor always provided me with feedback on my reports which helped me improve significantly by the end of my internship. Throughout these two months, I developed a thorough understanding on how to analyse scripts properly and efficiently in an effort to help writers by providing them with feedback and comments in order to assist them with their next drafts.
