trainees-interns

Trainees and interns have been a great support to us at WriteMovies, giving us extra sets of eyes on varied scripts to give entrants the fairest chance possible, and in return getting full training and practice to become approved WriteMovies-trained script analysts.
Adam Yee recently finished his traineeship in June and receives a certificate to showcase his achievement.

Here’s what Adam has had to say:Adam Yee

“I graduated with a BA in Film Studies from Liverpool John Moores University in July 2015. I did the degree because of my healthy obsession with film and with the intention of pursuing a career in the film industry. I’ve been trying to gain as much experience as possible since. As someone who aspires to write, produce and direct, I believe it is fundamental to know what makes a script work. So when this internship with WriteMovies came along I felt it was a great opportunity to challenge myself and develop new skills.

During my two-month internship with WriteMovies I was trained to write diligent script coverage and development notes for many screenplays at a fast turnaround. I learnt and became familiar with the template and format of which to do this. I read countless screenplays – produced, unproduced or submitted to the WriteMovies script competitions. I learnt how to analyse and evaluate these screenplays thoroughly then grade them. The internship allowed me to contribute to the script development process and gave me an in-depth understanding of it. For each of my reports I received constructive and insightful feedback from my mentor which enabled me to improve.”
